We have launched the International Debates website as a resolution of the Naples Conference, which brought together a group of internationalist workers’ organizations in June 2025.
These organizations have been meeting at previous conferences, such as the one in Buenos Aires in 2024, and other online meetings and initiatives. The main focus of our discussions and initiatives has been to denounce the advances toward an imperialist world war, and in particular to adopt an internationalist and principled position on the wars in Ukraine and Palestine.
These common positions have not been episodic, but rather, they are strategic in nature. Among them, we highlight the position of raising revolutionary defeatism in the face of the war in Ukraine, denouncing its imperialist and reactionary character on both sides of the border between Russia and the Ukrainian forces supported by NATO, and calling on workers on both sides of the border to reject the governments of hunger and slaughter. Also noteworthy is the position of unconditional support for the Palestinian resistance, placing the defeat of the imperialist enclave of Israel as a necessary step toward the socialist union of the Middle East and the expulsion of imperialism, a task reserved for the working masses of the region and the world.
But alongside these joint campaigns, we have agreed that it is necessary for the international vanguard to be able to process strategic debates, more in-depth elaborations, and also debate differences.
We are therefore launching this website to promote a space for debate. The Naples Conference has entrusted this task to a committee of comrades from KA in Greece, the PO in Argentina, the SEP in Turkey, and the TIR in Italy. Here, readers will find an archive of the dozens of resolutions and appeals that we have produced together in these first months of joint work. There are also political contributions from various organizations that have participated in or sent contributions to these international meetings. From its launch, we will add the regular publication of political and theoretical articles from the participating organizations and their militants, as well as from others who wish to send contributions to the publication. We want to expand our translation and dissemination work so that a larger part of the world’s working class and exploited vanguard has access to these texts in their own languages and can read, discuss, criticize, or take ownership of them more easily in this way.
The publication of the International Debates website is ultimately intended to be a tool for the reconstitution of a Revolutionary Workers’ International and revolutionary parties in each country, as set out in the political horizon of the call for the Naples Conference.
